Ayurvedic clinical guidance: apply virecana (therapeutic purgation) for hṛdroga; use pippalī for hikkā; and prescribe takra/āvalāla with saindhava prepared with cool water as a dietary/adjunct regimen.
It shows the Agni Purana functioning beyond mythology by transmitting practical Ayurvedic therapeutics—specific procedures (virecana), materia medica (pippalī, saindhava), and dietetics (takra/āvalāla).
By preserving health through dharmic, regulated treatment and diet, one sustains the body as a means for duty (dharma), worship, and disciplined living—thus supporting purity and right conduct rather than promising a separate ritual merit.
