Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"Procedure","entry_title":"Śaktyādi-nyāsa on Āsana–Piṇḍikā up to Brahma-śālā; Arghya and Tarpana Mantra-krama","lookup_keywords":["nyāsa","śaktyādi","bahurūpeṇa","puruṣātman","tarpana","brahma-śālā","piṇḍikā"],"quick_summary":"Perform śaktyādi nyāsa on the auspicious seat and extend placements across the base up to the brahma-śālā boundary; accompany with arghya using the ‘bahurūpeṇa’ mantra, then tarpana with ‘puruṣātman’, along with hymns and prescribed acts."}
Concept: Mantra as ‘adhyāropa’ of divinity onto matter: nyāsa distributes śakti across loci, making the seat/base a living ritual body; offerings (arghya, tarpana) sustain that invoked presence.
Application: For practitioners: follow exact nyāsa order (śaktyādi series), keep consistent loci (āsana → piṇḍikā → boundary), and separate arghya vs tarpana steps with their respective mantras to maintain ritual correctness.

Related Themes: Agni Purana 96 (nyāsa, arghya, tarpana, pratiṣṭhā-krama)
It teaches a step-sequenced worship protocol: performing mantra-nyāsa on the deity’s āsana, offering arghya with specified mantra-cues, then performing tarpana, and finally mapping mantric placements onto structural loci like the piṇḍikā and the brahma-śalā boundary.
It preserves highly technical temple/household worship mechanics—nyāsa geometry, upacāra offerings (arghya), and satiatory rites (tarpana)—showing the Agni Purana functioning as a practical ritual handbook alongside its broader teachings.
By correctly placing mantras (nyāsa) and completing arghya and tarpana, the worshipper ritually ‘installs’ divine presence, purifies the worship-space and self, and accrues merit through disciplined, rule-bound devotion (vidhi-yukta pūjā).
