FAQs

It introduces the Pratiṣṭhā-vidhi section: the rules for materials and procedure for installing a Śiva-liṅga in a temple, framed as a rite yielding both bhukti (worldly benefits) and mukti (liberation).

By shifting from architectural preliminaries (śilānyāsa) to consecration logistics (pratiṣṭhā-sāmagrī), it treats temple-building and deity-installation as a technical manual—showing the Purāṇa’s coverage of ritual, architecture (vāstu), calendrics (auspicious days), and soteriology.

The text explicitly links correct liṅga-pratiṣṭhā to dual fruits—prosperity in life and liberation—implying that properly timed and correctly performed consecration functions as a high-merit act (puṇya) with both worldly and transcendent outcomes.
