Concept: Śuddhi and aṃśa-bheda: ritual purity is established by honoring tattva-level presiding powers and purifying brahma-aṃśas through ordered nyāsa.

Application: Use krama (sequence) and appropriate upacāras (like ghṛta-abhyaṅga) to stabilize mantra-devatā installation before proceeding to higher limbs/parts of the rite.

Khanda Section: Puja-vidhi (Mantra–Murti–Nyasa and purification rites)

FAQs

It teaches a puja-vidhi step: anointing the tattva-presiding deities/forms with ghee etc., followed by ordered (kramāt) purification/consecration of the mūlāṅga using Brahma-mantras/deities.

Beyond narrative theology, it preserves practical liturgical technology—tattva-based worship, murti-part consecration, and mantra-sequencing—showing the Agni Purana as a manual of applied ritual science.

By purifying the “Brahma-portions” and consecrating the foundational limb in proper sequence, the rite aims at inner and outer śuddhi (purity), making worship efficacious and reducing ritual fault (doṣa) while accruing merit (puṇya).
