Procedure for Purifying Mantra-Vidyā

Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"Procedure","entry_title":"Dvādaśānta-grahaṇa and Yoni-nyāsa (Inner Installation)","lookup_keywords":["dvādaśānta","nyāsa","yoni","vāma","prāṇa-śakti"],"quick_summary":"The practitioner draws the current from the dvādaśānta point above the crown and installs it within, applying it via the left channel/hand to the yoni-seat according to the earlier stated method."}
Concept: Antaryāga (internal worship) through prāṇa-śakti manipulation: ascent to dvādaśānta and descent/installation into the generative seat (yoni) for mantra-siddhi.
Application: Use as a step in nyāsa/āvāhana sequences: stabilize attention at dvādaśānta, ‘grasp’ the current, and place it in the intended inner locus while maintaining mantra-awareness.
Khanda Section: Puja-vidhi / Tantra-yoga (Mantra-nyasa and inner ritual application)
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: shanta
Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A yogin-priest seated in meditation, drawing a luminous current from a point above the crown (dvādaśānta) and guiding it down the left channel to install it at the yoni-seat, with subtle chakric lotuses faintly indicated.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala temple mural style, ochre-red background, stylized yogin with elongated eyes, a white-gold aura above the crown labeled dvādaśānta, a pale luminous stream descending along the left side into a lotus at the pelvic seat (yoni), minimal ritual implements, sacred geometry motifs.","tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting, central seated sādhaka with heavy gold halo, raised gold embossing for the dvādaśānta aura above the head, gold-highlighted subtle channel on the left, lotus pedestal at yoni-seat, rich reds and greens, ornamental borders.","mysore_prompt":"Mysore painting, clean linework and soft shading, instructional diagram-like depiction: yogin posture, crown with dvādaśānta point, left nāḍī emphasized, yoni-seat lotus, small Sanskrit labels, restrained palette.","mughal_miniature_prompt":"Mughal miniature, fine brushwork, a contemplative ascetic in a quiet chamber, delicate luminous plume above the head (dvādaśānta), thin ribbon of light guided to the lower seat, subtle anatomical symbolism, detailed textiles and margins."}

Sandhi Resolution Notes: विधिनाअत्मनि → विधिना आत्मनि; पूर्वोक्तविधिना → पूर्वोक्त-विधिना; द्वादशान्ततः → द्वादश-अन्ततः (avyayībhāva).
Related Themes: Agni Purana 86 (earlier pūjā-vidhi steps: ‘pūrvokta-vidhi’)
It teaches an inner-ritual technique of nyāsa: drawing a subtle force/mantra-current, placing it within oneself by the prescribed method, and directing it via the left channel (vāma/iḍā) from the dvādaśānta to the yoni as a specific locus of installation.
Alongside mythology and dharma, the text preserves precise operational details of mantra-sādhana and yogic physiology (nāḍīs, dvādaśānta, internal placements), showing the Agni Purana’s compendium-like coverage of ritual technology.
By internalizing the mantra-energy through regulated placement (nyāsa) and yogic direction, the practitioner aims at purification, steadiness of prāṇa and mind, and enhanced efficacy (siddhi) of worship—turning external ritual into internal transformation.
