Vidya Category: {"primary_vidya":"Tantra","secondary_vidya":"Mantra","practical_application":"Ritual sequence: mantra with hūṃ phaṭ, application of Saṃhāra-mudrā, placing a consecrated thread on the head, pūjā and three āhutis to establish deity-sannidhi (presence).","sutra_style":true}
Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"Procedure","entry_title":"Śāntyatīta-kalā-pāśa mantra with Saṃhāra-mudrā, śiro-sūtra, and three āhutis for sannidhi","lookup_keywords":["saṃhāra-mudrā","hūṃ phaṭ","śiro-sūtra","traya āhuti","sannidhi"],"quick_summary":"Recite the specified mantra and seal with Saṃhāra-mudrā, place the ritual thread on the head, then worship and offer three oblations to secure the deity’s manifest presence in the rite."}
Concept: Presence (sannidhi) is ritually ‘made firm’ through coordinated mantra, mudrā, bodily placement (śiro-sūtra), and homa (āhuti).
Application: Treat the rite as a fourfold integration—sound (mantra), gesture (mudrā), body-anchor (thread/placement), and offering (homa)—to reduce ritual ‘leakage’ and enhance focus.

It prescribes a specific tantric performance: recite a bīja-mantra formula (oṃ hauṃ…hūṃ phaṭ), apply the Saṃhāra-mudrā, place the ritual thread on the head, and complete the act with worship plus three fire oblations to generate sannidhi (divine presence).
Beyond mythic narration, it documents applied ritual technology—seed-mantras, mudrā-prayoga, and quantified offerings (three āhutis)—showing the Agni Purana’s coverage of practical liturgy and tantric procedure alongside other disciplines.
The rite is framed as a means to secure sannidhi—bringing the invoked power/deity into effective proximity—while the hūṃ/phaṭ elements indicate protection and removal of obstacles, supporting purity, focus, and successful completion of worship.
