It teaches a Sūrya-pūjā step: recite the solar bīja-mantra formula (hrāṃ hrīṃ saḥ sūryāya namaḥ), perform āvāhana and related preliminaries using mudrās, then display the vimba-mudrā and offer gandha and other upacāras.
It functions like a compact ritual manual, preserving precise liturgical details—seed-mantras, mudrā-usage, invocation sequence, and offering protocol—showing the Agni Purāṇa’s coverage beyond narrative into applied religious technique.
By correctly invoking Sūrya with mantra, mudrā, and offerings, the worshipper aims at devatā-prīti (divine satisfaction), which traditionally supports purification, merit (puṇya), and the strengthening of tejas/vitality associated with solar worship.
