Related Themes: Agni Purana 61 (yantra–cakra placement; graha-śānti context); Agni Purana sections on Sudarśana/Viṣṇu worship and rakṣā rites
It prescribes a specific iconographic-ritual sequence: constructing a protective element (vṛkala), placing/establishing the Sudarśana-cakra, and offering/establishing Vāsudeva’s image as a graha-protective rite (graha-gupti).
It combines temple ritual (pratiṣṭhā/arcana), iconography (Sudarśana-cakra and Vāsudeva-mūrti), and applied jyotiṣa-style remediation (graha protection), showing the text’s integration of multiple knowledge domains.
By installing/offerings connected with Vāsudeva and Sudarśana, the rite is framed as a dharmic means to avert planetary afflictions, restore auspiciousness, and secure protective merit through devotion and correct ritual performance.
