Chapter 56 —
Account of the Worship of the Guardians of the Directions

Concept: Ritual action (pratiṣṭhā) is undertaken with intentionality (icchā-phala) and must be grounded in correct spatial order (axis/alignment).
Application: In temple work, ensure the sanctum axis is correctly established and extended before invoking presence; misalignment is treated as ritual-architectural fault.

It gives a practical step of prāsāda-pratiṣṭhā: the officiating ācārya draws out and brings forward the garbha-sūtra—the sanctum’s guiding cord/axis-line used to align and execute the installation procedure.
Beyond mythology, it preserves applied Vastu and ritual engineering details—how spatial markers (like the garbha-sūtra) are handled during temple consecration—showing the text’s coverage of architecture, geometry, and liturgy.
Pratiṣṭhā is presented as a means to attain desired fruits (iṣṭa-phala); correctly following the guru-led procedure is treated as ritually efficacious, aligning sacred space so worship yields intended merit and outcomes.
