Related Themes: Agni Purana 218 (abhiṣeka-mantra sequence)
It prescribes an abhiṣeka method: sprinkling through a hundred-holed golden vessel while reciting specific oṣadhī-related Vedic mantras and applying aromatic substances.
It blends ritual engineering (a perforated vessel for controlled sprinkling), mantra-prayoga (specific ṛk incipits), and herb/fragrance application—showing how Agni Purana integrates liturgy with practical, quasi-medicinal substances.
Abhiṣeka with mantra, herbs, and fragrances is a purification-and-consecration act, intended to sanctify the recipient/object and generate ritual merit through correct mantra and method.
