FAQs

It transmits Ayurvedic dravyaguṇa knowledge by enumerating specific named herbs/aromatics (including nāgavallī/betel vine and hrīvera), functioning like a nighaṇṭu-style ingredient list for medicinal, fragrant, or chewable preparations.

By preserving a compact catalogue of plant and drug names used in classical practice, it shows the Agni Purana’s encyclopedic scope—embedding practical Ayurveda (materia medica and pharmacological nomenclature) alongside ritual, theology, and other sciences.

Though primarily technical, such Ayurvedic listings support purity and well-being—traditionally viewed as enabling sāttvika living and bodily fitness for dharma, worship, and disciplined practice.
