FAQs

It prescribes a specific śrāddha observance tied to the occasion of a son’s birth, along with same-day dāna (charitable gifting) of items such as cows, gold, and clothing.

It exemplifies the text’s dharma-śāstra-like coverage by detailing practical timing (auspicious/required day) and the accompanying material components of ritual charity connected to life-events.

Performing śrāddha and dāna at a major household milestone is presented as dharmic conduct that supports ancestral satisfaction (pitṛ-prīti) and accrues religious merit through timely generosity.
