FAQs

Ayurvedic chikitsā: a specific lepa (medicated paste) formulation for jihvā-stambha (tongue stiffness), listing its required ingredients and indicating its therapeutic use.

Alongside theology and ritual, the Agni Purana preserves practical medical instructions—here, a targeted herbal-mineral preparation for an oral/neuro-muscular complaint—showing its wide coverage of applied sciences like Ayurveda.

While primarily medical, such prescriptions reflect the Purāṇic ideal of dharma through care of the body (śarīra-dhāraṇa) as a support for worship, recitation, and right conduct—restoring speech-related function that enables mantra and truthful discourse.
