Vidya Category: {"primary_vidya":"Ayurveda","secondary_vidya":"Philosophy","practical_application":"Understand doṣa seats and systemic pervasion—especially vāta’s mobility—guiding diagnosis (where symptoms manifest vs where doṣa originates) and treatment planning.","sutra_style":true}
Encyclopedic Reference: {"reference_type":"Description","entry_title":"Doṣa-sthāna and sarvagatatva; vāta’s special pervasiveness","lookup_keywords":["kapha-sthāna","pitta-sthāna","vāta-sthāna","sarvagata doṣa","vāyu-vaiśeṣya"],"quick_summary":"Kapha, pitta, and vāta have principal bodily seats, yet they circulate throughout the body. Vāta is especially pervasive, explaining its wide-ranging symptom patterns and its role in moving other doṣas."}
Dosha: Tridosha
Concept: Part–whole reasoning: localized seats exist, yet functional principles pervade; vāta as the dynamic principle enabling circulation and change.
Application: In complex problems, distinguish primary locus from system-wide influence; address the mobile driver factor first.

Related Themes: Agni Purana 279 (doṣa physiology and loci)
Ayurvedic tridoṣa physiology: although kapha (bala/śleṣman), pitta, and vāta have specific seats, they circulate through the whole body, with vāta being especially pervasive—useful for diagnosis and treatment planning.
It shows the Agni Purana’s inclusion of classical Ayurvedic theory (doṣa loci and systemic pervasion) alongside ritual and theological material, reflecting its wide-ranging, encyclopedic scope.
By teaching bodily balance and the pervasive role of vāta, the text supports disciplined health and self-regulation, traditionally viewed as aiding purity, steadiness in dharma, and readiness for spiritual practice.
