FAQs

It teaches a precise sequence in ritual protocol: pradakṣiṇā of the yāga-gṛha, purification by aspersion using an unbroken water-stream from a vardhanī, and then kalasha/kumbha worship while seated steadily.

By preserving granular, procedural details of worship—implements (vardhanī), actions (continuous sprinkling), spatial ritual (circumambulation), and posture/seat discipline—this chapter functions like a practical manual within the Purana’s wide-ranging compendium.

Clockwise circumambulation expresses reverence, while continuous sprinkling signifies thorough purification of the ritual space; worship of the kumbha then proceeds in a sanctified environment, supporting ritual efficacy and merit (puṇya) through cleanliness and correct order.
