Concept: Microcosm–macrocosm correspondence: tattvas can be ‘disjoined’ (viśleṣa) and reabsorbed through mantra and fire, mirroring pralaya as a controlled yogic-ritual process.

Application: Use as a structured meditation-homa: contemplate each tattva’s qualities, invoke its bija with viyoga, then release it into the fire to cultivate detachment and subtle awareness.

Khanda Section: Puja-vidhi / Tantra (Mantra-homa and Tattva-prakriya)

Primary Rasa: adbhuta

Secondary Rasa: shanta

FAQs

It teaches a mantra-homa method of bhūta-śuddhi/tattva-śodhana: dissolving the elemental principles (starting with earth) through bīja-mantras combined with dissolution-formulae, and offering them sequentially into the ritual fire.

Beyond mythic narration, it preserves precise ritual technology—seed-mantras, ordered elemental theory (tattvas), and homa application—showing the Agni Purana as a compendium that includes tantric-liturgical procedures alongside broader dharma and knowledge-systems.

Elemental dissolution and offering into Agni symbolizes purification and inner detachment from gross constituents, supporting mental clarity and ritual efficacy; it is framed as a means to cleanse subtle impurities and align the practitioner with a higher, purified state for worship.
