tapasā paramogreṇa caraṃtī cāruhāsinī | madano yatra dagdhaśca rudreṇa ca mahātmanā | tatraiva vediṃ kṛtvā ca tasyopari susaṃsthitā
Narrator (within Māheśvarakhaṇḍa context, traditionally Sūta/Lomaharṣaṇa)
Tirtha: Kedāra-tapas-kṣetra (Kāma-dahana-smṛti-sthāna)
Type: kshetra
Scene: Girijā, fair-smiling yet severe, arrives at the famed spot of Kāma’s burning; she builds a small vedi/altar and sits immovable in tapas, with the Himalaya as witness.
Desire is subdued in the presence of Rudra; tapas at such a sanctified spot supports inner mastery and divine attainment.
A Kedāra-region sacred spot identified by the mythic marker: where Kāma (Madana) was burned by Rudra.
She makes a vedi (altar) and seats herself for austerity—an ascetic, place-centered practice rather than a full yajña description.
