It declares the phalaśruti: steady recitation or hearing of Shiva’s sacred narrative purifies the soul and leads ultimately to mokṣa, with worldly fulfillment granted in a dharmic way.
By honoring Shiva’s līlā-kathā (Saguna narration) through śravaṇa and pāṭha, devotion matures; this devotional approach supports inner surrender to Shiva, which culminates in liberation.
Regular śravaṇa (listening) and pāṭha (recitation) of Shiva Purana—ideally with remembrance of the Panchākṣarī “Om Namaḥ Śivāya”—is the implied practice for spiritual merit and liberation.
