Sukta 1.83
यज्ञैरथर्वा प्रथमः पथस्तते ततः सूर्यो व्रतपा वेन आजनि । आ गा आजदुशना काव्यः सचा यमस्य जातममृतं यजामहे ॥
yajñáir atharvā́ prathamáḥ pathás tate tátaḥ sū́ryo vratapā́ vénā́ ajani | ā́ gā́ ā́jad uśánā kāvyáḥ sácā yámasya jātám amṛ́taṁ yajāmahe ||
যজ্ঞের দ্বারা অথর্বা সর্বপ্রথম পথসমূহ প্রসারিত করলেন; তারপর ব্রতপালক সূর্য ‘বেন’ (দ্রষ্টা) রূপে জন্ম নিল। তাঁর সঙ্গে উশনা কাব্য রশ্মিগুলিকে তাড়িয়ে নিয়ে এলেন; আমরা যমের লোকেতে জন্ম নেওয়া সেই অমৃত—অমর তত্ত্ব—কে পূজা করি।
