Reacting in anger the great Vanara chief struck the Rakshasa with a tree, by which the Rakshasa fell down dead.
The verse juxtaposes righteous force and anger: dharma permits force to stop harm, yet the text also notes krodha (anger) as a powerful, morally risky fuel that must be governed by discernment.
Hanuman’s counterblow with the uprooted tree proves fatal; the rakshasa collapses and dies.
Protective strength (śaurya) tempered by the implied need for self-mastery over anger.
