Entry toward Viśālā and the Indra–Kṣīrodamathana Legend
न तास्स्म परिगृह्णन्ति सर्वे ते देवदानवा:।अप्रतिग्रहणात्ताश्च सर्वास्साधारणास्स्मृता:।।।।
na tāḥ sma parigṛhṇanti sarve te devadānavāḥ |
apratigrahaṇāt tāś ca sarvāḥ sādhāraṇāḥ smṛtāḥ ||
দেব ও দানবদের মধ্যে কেউই তাঁদের পত্নীরূপে গ্রহণ করল না। গ্রহণ না হওয়ার কারণেই তাঁরা সকলেই ‘সাধারণ’—সবার জন্য সমান—বলে স্মৃত হলেন।
Neither devas nor danavas accept them in marriage. Unmarried, all of them have been regarded as belonging to all.
