The evil-minded Ravana is inflicting pains on the three worlds. He hates the guardians of the earth and intends to assault Indra, lord of the celestials.
Adharma is shown as hostility toward rightful order and legitimate guardianship; dharma requires protecting the world from intimidation and unlawful aggression.
The gods describe the scale of Rāvaṇa’s tyranny—cosmic in reach—and his intent to challenge Indra himself.
Protective responsibility—leaders like Indra symbolize guardianship; attacking them represents a direct assault on moral and cosmic order.
