Commencement and Performance of Daśaratha’s Aśvamedha

एवमुक्तो नरपतिर्ब्राह्मणैर्वेदपारगै:।।।।गवां शतसहस्राणि दश तेभ्यो ददौ नृप:। 4शतकोटीस्सुवर्णस्य रजतस्य चतुर्गुणम् ।।।।

evam ukto narapatir brāhmaṇair vedapāragaiḥ |

gavāṃ śatasahasrāṇi daśa tebhyo dadau nṛpaḥ |

śatakoṭīs suvarṇasya rajatasya caturguṇam ||

বেদপারগ ব্রাহ্মণদের এমন বাক্য শুনে নৃপতি তাঁদেরকে দশ লক্ষ গাভী, স্বর্ণের একশো কোটি এবং রৌপ্যের তার চারগুণ দান করলেন।
