Sita’s Resolve to Accompany Rama to the Forest
भक्तां पतिव्रतां दीनां मां समां सुखदुःखयोः।नेतुमर्हसि काकुत्स्थ समान सुखदुःखिनीम्।।।।
bhaktāṃ pativratāṃ dīnāṃ māṃ samāṃ sukhaduḥkhayoḥ | netum arhasi kākutstha samāna-sukhaduḥkhinīm ||
হে কাকুৎস্থ! আমি আপনার ভক্তা, পতিব্রতা ও দীন; সুখে-দুঃখে সমভাবে স্থিত, আপনার সঙ্গে সমানভাবে সুখ-দুঃখ ভাগ করে নেওয়া আমাকে সঙ্গে নিয়ে যাওয়াই আপনার কর্তব্য।
If you do not wish to take your wife in this time of distress to the forest I shall die by consuming poison or throwing myself into fire or drowning in water.
