The Greatness of Puruṣottama Kṣetra
मोहिन्युवाच । तस्मिन् क्षेत्रे वरे पुण्ये वैष्णवे पुरुषोत्तमे ॥ ५३ ॥
mohinyuvāca | tasmin kṣetre vare puṇye vaiṣṇave puruṣottame || 53 ||
মোহিনী বললেন—“সেই শ্রেষ্ঠ পুণ্যক্ষেত্রে, যা বৈষ্ণব-স্বভাব এবং পুরুষোত্তম নামে প্রসিদ্ধ…”॥
Mohinī
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It identifies the setting as a supremely meritorious Vaishnava kṣetra (holy region) connected with Puruṣottama (Vishnu), signaling that actions performed there are especially conducive to dharma and devotion.
By emphasizing a ‘Vaiṣṇava’ sacred space dedicated to Puruṣottama, it frames bhakti as place-centered worship and remembrance of Vishnu—pilgrimage and reverent engagement with a Vishnu-tīrtha as supports for devotion.
The verse mainly reflects tīrtha-dharma (pilgrimage theology) rather than a specific Vedāṅga; practically, it points to correct recognition of kṣetra (sacred geography) as a basis for ritual observance and vrata-performance in a Vaishnava context.
