The Greatness of Gayā
Gayā-Māhātmya

Narada (teaching within a Tirtha-Mahatmya context of Uttara-Bhaga; addressed to an interlocutor as 'subhage')
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: bhakti
Secondary Rasa: shanta
The verse highlights the extraordinary purificatory power (śuddhi and puṇya) gained through the described sacred act/place, extending its benefit to one’s lineage up to seven generations and culminating in attainment of a high Dharmic state.
While Bhakti is not explicitly named, the verse reflects a core Purāṇic Bhakti principle: sincere engagement with sacred dharma—often via tirtha-sevā, vrata, or worship—produces transformative purification and leads the devotee toward an exalted spiritual destination.
The verse primarily conveys Dharma-śāstra style merit (puṇya-phala) and lineage purification; it does not directly teach a specific Vedāṅga technique (like Vyākaraṇa or Jyotiṣa), but it aligns with ritual ethics and the logic of karmic results used in Smṛti and Purāṇic instruction.
