Adhyaya 62 — The Fire-God Enters the Brahmin Youth; Varuthini’s Love-Sickness and Kali’s Disguise
त्वया त्यक्ता न सन्देहः परित्यक्ष्यामि जीवितम् ।
तत्राधर्मः कष्टतरोः क्रियालोपो भविष्यति ॥
tvayā tyaktā na sandehaḥ parityakṣyāmi jīvitam | tatrā dharmaḥ kaṣṭataraḥ kriyā-lopo bhaviṣyati ||
যদি তুমি আমাকে ত্যাগ কর, তবে—নিঃসন্দেহে—আমি প্রাণ ত্যাগ করব। তখন সেখানে আরও কঠোর অধর্ম উদ্ভূত হবে, আর যজ্ঞ-আচার ও কর্তব্য অবহেলিত হবে।
