Adhyaya 34 — Madālāsā’s Instruction on Sadācāra (Householder Conduct, Purity, and Daily Rites)
तर्जन्यङ्गुष्ठयोरन्तः पैत्र्यं तीर्थमुदाहृतम् । पितॄणां तेन तोयादि दद्याद् नान्दीमुखादृते ॥
tarjanyaṅguṣṭhayorantaḥ paitryaṃ tīrthamudāhṛtam | pitṝṇāṃ tena toyādi dadyānnāndīmukhādṛte ||
তর্জনী ও বৃদ্ধাঙ্গুলির মধ্যবর্তী স্থানকে ‘পৈতৃয়-তীর্থ’ বলা হয়েছে। সেই দ্বারা পিতৃদের উদ্দেশে জল প্রভৃতি অর্পণ করা উচিত—কিন্তু নান্দীমুখ বিধিতে নয়।
