असत्यार्थे नृणां याञ्चाप्रवणं जायते मनः ।
सत्यशेषे कथं याञ्चां मम जिह्वा करिष्यति ॥
asatyārthe nṛṇāṃ yāñcāpravaṇaṃ jāyate manaḥ |
satyaśeṣe kathaṃ yāñcāṃ mama jihvā kariṣyati ||
লক্ষ্য যদি অসত্য হয়, তবে মন ভিক্ষা-প্রার্থনা থেকে সরে যায়। যদি আমার কাছে কেবল সত্যই অবশিষ্ট থাকে, তবে আমার জিহ্বা কীভাবে কোনো প্রার্থনার কথা উচ্চারণ করবে?

Begging (or asking boons) is ethically constrained by satya: if one’s life is grounded in truth and self-respect, speech will not bend toward opportunistic solicitation. The verse links inner integrity with verbal discipline.
