Rāma’s victory, Sītā’s vindication, and return to Ayodhyā as told by Mārkaṇḍeya
Pulastyo nāma tasyāsīn mānaso dayitaḥ sutaḥ | tasya Vaiśravaṇo nāma gavi putro 'bhavat prabhuḥ ||
The verse frames power and status as arising within a sacred lineage, implying that authority (prabhu) should be understood alongside origin, duty, and rightful succession rather than mere force.
Mārkaṇḍeya recounts a genealogical link: Pulastya is introduced as a beloved mind-born son, and then Vaiśravaṇa is named as Pulastya’s powerful son born through his wife Gāu.
