धृतराष्ट्रस्य क्रतु-प्रवर्तनम् तथा पाण्डवानां निमन्त्रण-प्रतिवचनम्

ते वध्यमाना गन्धर्वा: सूतपुत्रेण धीमता
te vadhyamānā gandharvāḥ sūtaputreṇa dhīmatā | āpatad dhi mahāvegaiś citrasenasya sainikaiḥ ||
বুদ্ধিমান সূতপুত্র কর্ণের হাতে গন্ধর্বরা যখন নিহত হতে লাগল, তখন চিত্রসেনের অতিশয় দ্রুতগামী সৈন্যদল একের পর এক ধেয়ে এলো। যত আঘাত বাড়ল, ততই তারা শত-সহস্র সংখ্যায় সেখানে জমায়েত হতে লাগল।
