भद्रवटगमनम् — स्कन्देन महिषदानवनिग्रहः

Bhadravaṭa Procession and Skanda’s Neutralization of Mahiṣa

दशवर्षसहस््राणि तपस्तप्त्वा महातपा: । जनयत्‌ पावकं घोरं पितृणां स प्रजा: सृजन्‌

daśavarṣasahasrāṇi tapastaptvā mahātapāḥ | janayat pāvakaṃ ghoraṃ pitṝṇāṃ sa prajāḥ sṛjan |

মার্কণ্ডেয় বললেন—মহাতপস্বী পাঞ্চজন্য দশ হাজার বছর ভয়ংকর তপস্যা করলেন। পিতৃবংশ রক্ষার অভিপ্রায়ে তিনি এক ভয়াল পবিত্র অগ্নি প্রজ্বলিত করলেন এবং তারপর প্রজাসৃষ্টি করতে উদ্যত হলেন।
