ततस्तमेव शरणं गतो<5स्मि विधिवत्‌ तदा । वरेण्यं वरदं देव॑ं मनसा कर्मणैव च

Transliteration

tatastam eva śaraṇaṃ gato 'smi vidhivat tadā | vareṇyaṃ varadaṃ devaṃ manasā karmaṇaiva ca ||

Translation

তখন আমি যথাবিধি সেই-ই দেবতার শরণ নিলাম—যিনি বরণীয় এবং বরদাতা; মনেও, কর্মেও তাঁকেই আশ্রয় করলাম। হে যুধিষ্ঠির! আমি অবিরাম ছুটে বেড়াতাম, উৎকণ্ঠায় আচ্ছন্ন থাকতাম; আর বহু বছর ঘুরেও যখন সেই মহাত্মার দেহের অন্ত পেলাম না, তখন মন, বাক্য ও ক্রিয়ার দ্বারা সেই বরদাতা, পরম পূজনীয় দেবতারই শরণাপন্ন হলাম।
