Kaṇva’s Counsel on Impermanent Power; Opening of the Mātali–Guṇakeśī Narrative
rāma uvāca ity uktvā śaravarṣeṇa sarvataḥ samavākirat
The verse highlights the ethical and narrative motif that words are followed by responsibility and action; in a martial context, a declaration is immediately matched by decisive effort, reflecting the kṣatriya ideal of resolute execution once a stance is taken.
After speaking, Rāma (the speaker) unleashes a dense volley of arrows in every direction, effectively blanketing the area with missiles and signaling an intense phase of combat.
