दैवं तु न मया शक्यं कर्म कर्तु कथंचन । मैं पुरुषार्थसे जितना हो सकता है
daivaṃ tu na mayā śakyaṃ karma kartuṃ kathaṃcana |
অর্জুন বললেন—দৈববিধানকে আমি কোনোভাবেই সম্পাদন বা পরিবর্তন করতে সক্ষম নই। আমি পুরুষার্থ দিয়ে যতটা পারি, সন্ধি স্থাপনের জন্য সর্বোচ্চ চেষ্টা করব; কিন্তু প্রারব্ধের বিধান এড়ানো বা বদলানো আমার ক্ষমতার মধ্যে নয়।
