धघतयाट्र उवाच यानिहाहुः स्वस्य धर्मस्य लोकान् द्विजातीनां पुण्यकृतां सनातनान् । तेषां क्रमान् कथय ततो<पि चान्यान् नैतद् विद्वन् वेत्तुमिच्छामि कर्म
dhṛtarāṣṭra uvāca | yān ihāhuḥ svasya dharmasya lokān dvijātīnāṃ puṇyakṛtāṃ sanātanān | teṣāṃ kramān kathaya tato 'pi cānyān naitad vidvan vettum icchāmi karma ||
ধৃতরাষ্ট্র বললেন—হে বিদ্বান, পুণ্যকর্মকারী দ্বিজদের জন্য স্বস্ব ধর্মফল অনুসারে যে সনাতন লোকসমূহ প্রাপ্ত হয় বলে শোনা যায়, তাদের ক্রম বর্ণনা করুন; এবং সেগুলির থেকে পৃথক অন্যান্য লোকেরও ব্যাখ্যা দিন। আমি কাম্যফল-আশ্রিত কর্মের কথা জানতে চাই না।
