उद्योगपर्व — अध्याय 33: धृतराष्ट्र-विदुर संवादः (विदुरनीतिः)
इन्द्रियैरिन्द्रियार्थेषु वर्तमानैरनिग्रहै: । तैरयं ताप्यते लोको नक्षत्राणि ग्रहैरिव
indriyair indriyārtheṣu vartamānair anigrahaiḥ | tair ayaṃ tāpyate loko nakṣatrāṇi grahair iva ||
ইন্দ্রিয়গুলি যখন সংযমহীন হয়ে বিষয়ের মধ্যে বিচরণ করে, তখন তারা এই জগতকে দগ্ধ করে—যেমন গ্রহের তেজে নক্ষত্র ম্লান হয়ে যায়।
