Karma, Varṇa-Dharma, and the Ethics of Governance
स एव भक्त: स गुरु: स भर्ता सवैपिता सच माता सुद्ृच्च । अगाधबुद्धि्विंदुरो दीर्घदर्शी स नो मन्त्री कुशलं तं सम पृच्छे:
sa eva bhaktaḥ sa guruḥ sa bhartā saiva pitā sa ca mātā sudṛḍhaḥ | agādhabuddhir vinduro dīrghadarśī sa no mantrī kuśalaṃ taṃ sama pṛccheḥ ||
তিনিই প্রকৃত ভক্ত, তিনিই গুরু, তিনিই পালনকর্তা ও আশ্রয়; তিনিই পিতা এবং তিনিই মাতা—অটল ও নির্ভরযোগ্য। অগাধ বুদ্ধিসম্পন্ন, দূরদর্শী বিদুর আমাদের মন্ত্রী। হে সঞ্জয়, যথোচিত সম্মানসহ তাঁর কাছে আমাদের মঙ্গল ও কল্যাণের কথা জিজ্ঞাসা করো।
