नेदृशं बन्धुमासाद्य बान्धव: सुखमेधते । जिस दुर्बल मनुष्यका शत्रुपक्षेके लोग अभिनन्दन करते हों
nedṛśaṃ bandhum āsādya bāndhavaḥ sukham edhate |
এমন আত্মীয়কে পেলে স্বজনেরা সুখে উন্নতি লাভ করে না। যে দুর্বল, যাকে শত্রুপক্ষও প্রশংসা করে, যে সকলের দ্বারা অপমানিত, যার আসন-বস্ত্র নীচ, যে সামান্য লাভেই বিস্মিত ও সন্তুষ্ট হয়, এবং যে সর্বতোভাবে হীন, ক্ষুদ্র ও নীচস্বভাব—এমন ‘আত্মীয়’ আশ্রয় নয়, লজ্জা ও দুঃখের কারণ হয়।
