अध्याय १२२ — कृष्णस्य दुर्योधनं प्रति नीत्युपदेशः
Kṛṣṇa’s Ethical Counsel to Duryodhana
बहुवर्षसहस्रान्तं प्रजापालनवर्धितम् | अनेकक्रतुदानौधैरर्जितं मे महत् फलम्
bahuvarṣasahasrāntaṁ prajā-pālana-vardhitam | aneka-kratu-dānaughair arjitaṁ me mahat phalam | kathaṁ tat sarvaṁ alpa-kālena naṣṭaṁ mayā saha | yena aham iha-sthānād adhaḥ pātitaḥ | bhagavan mahādyute mama sat-karmabhiḥ prāptān sanātanān lokān tvam jānāsi | tat me puṇyaṁ sahasā kathaṁ naṣṭam abhavat ||
আমি বহু সহস্র বছর ধরে অসংখ্য যজ্ঞ ও দানের দ্বারা যে মহৎ পুণ্যফল সঞ্চয় করেছিলাম, এবং প্রজাপালন-ধর্মে তা ক্রমে বৃদ্ধি পেয়েছিল—তা অল্প সময়ে কীভাবে নষ্ট হয়ে গেল, যে আমি এই অবস্থান থেকে পতিত হলাম? ভগবন, মহাতেজস্বী! আমার সৎকর্মে প্রাপ্ত সনাতন লোকসমূহ আপনি জানেন; তবে আমার সমস্ত পুণ্য হঠাৎ কীভাবে ক্ষয় হয়ে গেল?
