Kṛṣṇa’s Ethical Counsel to Duryodhana
sthānaṃ ca pratipanno 'si karmaṇā svena nirjitam | acalaṃ śāśvataṃ puṇyam uttamaṃ dhruvam avyayam ||
The verse affirms the ethical principle that one’s destiny—especially a higher, enduring state—is secured through one’s own karma aligned with dharma. True merit yields a stable, imperishable spiritual ‘place’ characterized by purity, excellence, and permanence.
Nārada addresses a listener and pronounces a confirmation/blessing: the person has already reached a supreme, eternal state earned by personal merit. The statement functions as a narrative assurance of the fruit of righteous action.
