Saṃhāra-krama (The Sequence of Cosmic Dissolution) — Yājñavalkya’s Discourse
अभक्तमटवीप्रायं दावदग्धमहीरुहम् । पन्थानं तस्कराकीर्ण क्षेमेणाभिपतेद् युवा
abhaktamaṭavīprāyaṁ dāvadagdhamahīruham | panthānaṁ taskarākīrṇaṁ kṣemeṇābhipated yuvā ||
ভীষ্ম বললেন—যেমন কোনো বিরল যুবকই নিরাপদে চলতে পারে এমন পথে, যা জনশূন্য অরণ্যসম, যার বৃক্ষ দावানলে দগ্ধ, আর পথ দস্যুতে ভরা; যেখানে আহার অপ্রাপ্য এবং যাত্রা কঠোর ও বিপদসংকুল—তেমনি যোগমার্গের আশ্রয় নিয়ে কোনো বিরল দ্বিজই কুশলভাবে অগ্রসর হতে পারে।
