Determination of the Means to Liberation
दस्यून् निहन्ति वै राजा भूयसो वाप्यनागस: । भार्या माता पिता पुत्रो हन्यन्ते पुरुषेण ते । परेणापकृतो राजा तस्मात् सम्यक् प्रधारयेत्
dasyūn nihanti vai rājā bhūyaso vāpy anāgasaḥ | bhāryā mātā pitā putro hanyante puruṣeṇa te | pareṇāpakṛto rājā tasmāt samyak pradhārayet ||
দ্যুমৎসেন বললেন—রাজা দস্যুদের হত্যা করে, কখনও আবার বহু নিরপরাধকেও। কোনো ব্যক্তি নিহত হলে তার স্ত্রী, মাতা, পিতা ও পুত্রও যেন নিহত হয়, কারণ তাদের জীবিকার উপায় ছিন্ন হয়ে যায়। অতএব অন্যের অপকারে প্ররোচিত হলেও রাজাকে সম্যক্ বিবেচনা করতে হবে; মৃত্যুদণ্ড দিতে তাড়াহুড়ো করা উচিত নয়।
