This line is a colophon rather than a doctrinal verse: it teaches no new doctrine directly, but frames the surrounding discourse as Mokṣa-dharma—ethical and philosophical instruction oriented toward liberation—presented through Śuka’s inquiries within the Śānti Parva.
The text formally closes the chapter, identifying its placement in the Mahābhārata (Śānti Parva, Mokṣa-dharma section) and noting that the chapter’s subject is Śuka’s follow-up questioning; it signals a transition to the next chapter.
