मनवे सूर्यपुत्राय ददु: खड्गं सुविस्तरम् । बेटा! फिर महेन्द्रने लोकपालोंको और लोकपालोंने सूर्य-पुत्र मननुको वह विशाल खड्ग दे दिया
manave sūryaputrāya daduḥ khaḍgaṃ suvistaram |
ভীষ্ম বললেন—তাঁরা সূর্যপুত্র মনুকে সেই বিস্তৃত ও প্রবল খড়্গ প্রদান করলেন। এই ধারাবাহিকতায় অস্ত্রটি দেবপ্রদত্ত অনুমোদনে ধর্মরক্ষার উপকরণ—যা কেবল ব্যক্তিগত শক্তিতে নয়, উচ্চতর স্বীকৃতি ও বৈধ অধিকারে যোগ্য শাসকের হাতে অর্পিত হয়।
