Virūpākṣa’s Dāna and Gautama’s Burden — the approach of Rājadharma

दत्तानुकीर्तिविंषम: क्षुद्रो नैकतिक: शठ: । असंविभागी मानी च तथा सझ्ी विकत्थन:

dattānukīrtiviṁśamaḥ kṣudro naikātikaḥ śaṭhaḥ | asaṁvibhāgī mānī ca tathā saṅgī vikatthanaḥ ||

ভীষ্ম বললেন—হে রাজন! যে বারবার নিজের দানের ঢাক পেটায়, ক্ষুদ্রচিত্ত, একদেশদর্শী ও ধূর্ত; যে ভাগ দেয় না, অহংকারে স্ফীত, বিষয়ভোগে আসক্ত এবং প্রশংসার লোভে বৃথা বড়াই করে—সে-ই নৃশংস কর্মে প্রবৃত্ত নিষ্ঠুর মানুষ বলে পরিচিত।
