Yudhiṣṭhira uvāca—O mūḍha! tvaṃ niścaya hi adharmasya ācaraṇaṃ karoṣi, yo nyāyasya diśaṃ na paśyasi. tvaṃ śuddha-hṛdayān asmān bhrātṝn bhedayitum icchasi. || Śakuniḥ uvāca—garte mattaḥ prapatate pramattaḥ sthāṇum ṛcchati. jyeṣṭho rājan variṣṭho ’si, namas te bharatarṣabha. ||

যুধিষ্ঠির বললেন—হে মূঢ়, তুমি নিশ্চয়ই অধর্মাচরণ করছ; কারণ তুমি ন্যায়ের দিকে তাকাও না। শুদ্ধহৃদয় আমাদের ভাইদের মধ্যে তুমি বিভেদ ঘটাতে চাও। শকুনি বলল—মত্ত মানুষ গর্তে পড়ে, আর অসতর্ক ব্যক্তি খুঁটির সঙ্গে ধাক্কা খায়। হে রাজন, আপনি জ্যেষ্ঠ ও শ্রেষ্ঠ; হে ভরতবংশের বৃষভ, আপনাকে প্রণাম।
