नाकुलिस्तस्य विशिखैर्वर्म संनतपर्वभि: । गात्रात् संच्यावयामास तदद्भुतमिवाभवत्,तब नकुलपुत्रने झुकी हुई गाँठवाले अनेक बाण मारकर चित्रसेनके शरीरसे उसके कवचको काट गिराया। वह अद्धभुत-सा कार्य हुआ
sañjaya uvāca |
nākulis tasya viśikhair varma sannatapārṇabhiḥ |
gātrāt sañcyāvayāmāsa tad adbhutam ivābhavat ||
সঞ্জয় বললেন—তখন নকুলপুত্র বাঁকা গাঁটযুক্ত বহু তীরে আঘাত করে তার দেহ থেকে বর্মটি সরিয়ে ফেলল; সে কীর্তি বিস্ময়কর বলে মনে হল।
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights kṣatriya-dharma in practice: disciplined skill and decisive action in battle. Even amid violence, the narrative frames excellence in arms as a duty-bound capability, not mere cruelty—an emphasis on competence, courage, and resolve.
Sañjaya reports that Nakuli strikes his opponent (Chitrasena) with multiple arrows and causes the opponent’s armour to be cut away or slip off from the body—an impressive battlefield feat.
