Garuḍa Array and the Ardhacandra Counter-Formation
श्वेत: कुरूणामकरोत् क्षयं तस्मिन् महाहवे
sañjaya uvāca |
śvetaḥ kurūṇām akarot kṣayaṃ tasmin mahāhave |
jighāṃsantaṃ yudhāṃ śreṣṭha tadā āsīt tumulaṃ mahat ||
সঞ্জয় বললেন—সেই মহাযুদ্ধে শ্বেত কৌরবদের মধ্যে ভয়ংকর ক্ষয় সাধন করল। তারপর যোদ্ধাদের শ্রেষ্ঠ ভীষ্ম যখন তাকে বধ করতে উদ্যত হলেন, তখনই যুদ্ধ মহাবিস্তৃত ও তুমুল হয়ে উঠল। একদিকে শ্বেতকে রক্ষার সংকল্প, অন্যদিকে তাকে নিধন করার প্রতিজ্ঞা—এই দুই সংকল্পের সংঘাতে রণক্ষেত্র ভয়ালভাবে উত্তাল হল।
