भीष्मपर्व — अध्याय ११०: पार्थभीमयोः प्रहारः तथा भीष्माभिमुखं संग्रामविस्तारः

एष चापि नरव्याप्रो मत्कृते जीवितं त्यजेत् । एष न: समयस्तात तारयेम परस्परम्,'ये पुरुषसिंह अर्जुन भी मेरे लिये अपने प्राणोंतकका परित्याग कर सकते हैं। तात! हमलोगोंमें यह प्रतिज्ञा हो चुकी है कि हम एक-दूसरेको संकटसे उबारेंगे
eṣa cāpi naravyāpro matkṛte jīvitaṃ tyajet | eṣa naḥ samayas tāta tārayema parasparam ||
এই নরব্যাঘ্র অর্জুনও আমার জন্য প্রাণ ত্যাগ করতে পারে। তাত! আমাদের এই প্রতিজ্ঞা—আমরা পরস্পরকে বিপদ থেকে উদ্ধার করব।
